DAY 1: LIMA | INC: - Arrival in Lima, meet and greet by the Peru Travel Now staff who will assist us with luggage and will provide a brief city orientation and helpful information. Transfer to hotel and overnight stay in Lima. DAY 2: LIMA | INC: B/L We will meet a renowned local photographer who will join us for lunch and accompany us in the city tour. In the afternoon, we will go sightseeing around the main streets, plazas and avenues of the city. We will start at the Miraflores Love Park with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. We will then have a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial center of the ancient Lima culture; and in San Isidro District, the financial center of the city, we will appreciate Huaca Huallamarca, ancient pre-Inca shrine. We will continue to the Main Square where we will find the Central Government Palace and the City Hall. We will visit the Cathedral and walk to San Francisco, a 17th century convent where we will be able to see its famous catacombs. To finish, we will visit some art and photography exhibitions in the city. Overnight stay in Lima. DAY 3: LIMA/AREQUIPA | INC: B Transfer to the airport for our flight to Arequipa. Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the morning is free to get used to the height. In the afternoon we will delight ourselves with the "White City" in a tour that includes the Main Square, Cathedral, the Cloisters, the church of the Company of Jesus, and colonial district of Yanahuara, the Saint Lazarus quarter, the Chilina ravine and the residential area of Selva Alegre. In addition, we will visit a true jewel, the Saint Catherine Convent that had been closed for nearly 400 years, whose narrow streets, plazas and gardens reminds of the ancient quarters of Seville or Granada. Overnight stay in Arequipa. DAY 4: AREQUIPA/COLCA| INC: B/L/D Departure to the spectacular Colca Valley. We will ride up the side of the Chachani volcano; the view of the Misti and Picchu Picchu volcanoes is spectacular. We will go across the vicuña reservation of Pampa Cañahuas, where we will be able to see them grazing freely in the Andean highlands. Unique typical villages will appear on our way. We will have lunch on the way to our lodge. We will have the afternoon free to rest and enjoy our lodge or to visit as an option the hot springs of the area. Dinner and overnight in the lodge. DAY 5: COLCA | INC: B/L/D Very early in the morning we will head for the Condor Cross viewpoint. We will wait expectantly to admire the awesome flight of the condors, giant Andean birds in danger of extinction that are the symbol of the Andes Mountains. The view enables us to appreciate the dimension of the canyon, considered one of the deepest in the world. We will visit the villages of Maca and Yanque that still preserve their colonial churches. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge. DAY 6: CHIVAY/PUNO | INC: B/L/D After lunch we will have a 5-hour trip in a special vehicle to our hotel in Puno, where we will be welcomed and assisted upon arrival. If there is time, we will visit the Sillustani Mausoleum on the route. Dinner and overnight stay in Puno. DAY 7: PUNO | INC: D/A Visiting Lake Titicaca is a full day excursion. We will begin by visiting the Uros, the hospitable inhabitants who live in artificial islands made of reed. We will then move on to Taquile Island where the people still preserve their ancestral traditions and will welcome us with their typical colorful clothes. We can't miss the opportunity to explore the island and be amazed with the awesome views of the lake. We will have a typical box lunch in the island. In the afternoon we will return to the city. Overnight stay in Puno. DAY 8: PUNO/CUSCO | INC: B/L We will depart with a private transport and guide to the city of Cusco. On the way we will make stops from time to time to visit the attractions along this route of majestic landscapes. Our first stop will be at the Pucara Site Museum. We shouldn't miss the opportunity of buying one of the pottery bulls that are a classic of the place. The next stops will be to have lunch and enjoy the beautiful views in La Raya, the natural border between Puno and Cusco. We will then go on to Racchi, the Temple of god Wiracocha, which outstands for the huge walls and corridors of the precinct. Before arriving at our final destination, we will visit the beautiful chapel of Andahuaylillas. We will be arriving in Cusco late in the afternoon. Free night; our representatives will suggest the best places to have a special dinner. Overnight stay in Cusco. DAY 9: CUSCO | INC: B/L We will enjoy a day of images touring the Center of the Inca World accompanied by a professional photographer that will recommend us the best angles of the city, the most adequate light and the least traditional views of the local people's everyday life. We will make a circuit that will begin with a walk to the most important attractions in the city center, such as the Main Square, the Koricancha temple, the craftsmen's district of San Blas and the archeological site of Sacsayhuaman. At midday we will have a stop for a succulent lunch in the picturesque restaurant Pachapapa, well-known for its exquisite dishes prepared in traditional wood ovens. Overnight stay in Cusco. DAY 10: CUSCO/VALLE SAGRADO | INC: B/PL We will enjoy the main attractions in the Sacred Valley. We will start in Chinchero where we will be able to appreciate the beauty of the town and the archeological site; we will also have the chance to participate in a brief exhibition of traditional textiles, a feature that is distinctive of this famous village for the beauty and high quality of their textiles and ancestral dying techniques. We will then continue to Moray, where the view is impressive due to the colossal concentric terraces simulating a huge amphitheater. Its use: to recreate 20 different types of microclimates, a measure that ensured to agricultural production of the empire. After a picnic lunch, we will head to Maras, the famous and millenary salt mines of colonial times. The contrast of the white salt pans and the green valley is an imposing view that you cannot miss for a spectacular postcard of the Sacred Inca Valley. Finally, we will visit Ollantaytambo, a picturesque village continuously inhabited since the Inca times, where we will visit the temple with the same name, used as a fortress during the Inca resistance and where we can get collection photos. Overnight stay in the Sacred Valley. DAY 11: SACRED VALLEY/MACHU PICCHU | INC: B/BL Departure for Ollantaytambo, where we will have a short stroll around the village before catching the train until Km. 104 of the railroad, where we will climb out and start the so-called Express Inca Trail, a light trek to explore the beautiful Wiñaywayna complex. After a box lunch, we will continue to Machu Picchu, entering through the Intipunku or the Sun Gate. We will spend the night in one of the hotels in Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu. DAY 12: MACHU PICCHU/CUSCO| INC: B/L Very early in the morning, our guide will take us to the Lost City of the Incas to make a special visit to the Inca complex. We will enjoy the incredible terraces, stairways, ceremonial rooms and urban areas. The energy emanates from everywhere. We will have time to explore the citadel on our own and have lunch in one of the restaurants of the area. At the scheduled time we will catch the train back and then transferred to our hotel. Overnight stay in Cusco. DAY 13: CUSCO/PUERTO MALDONADO | INC: B/L/D Transfer to the airport for our departure to Puerto Maldonado. Arrival, welcome at Puerto Maldonado. We suggest you visit the House of the Butterflies that is very close from the airport. We will do the check-in in a very easy and comfortable way and then head to the dock in only 15 minutes. From now on we will be able to experience the charm of the jungle on a 45 minute trip along River Madre de Dios until reaching the Inkaterra Amazon Reserve Lodge. After a brief welcome, we will enjoy a pleasant lunch with the ingredients of the region, we well have a nap, share a pleasant time with some refreshing tea and get ready for the afternoon excursion.

After a brief orientation talk by Inkaterra, you will be able to choose among several excursions available at the Amazon Reserve. On the first day, we recommend you to enter the jungle through a guided walk along the network of trails in the natural area of the Inkaterra Amazon Reserve, where you will discover the marvelous Amazon Basin. This excursion offers an excellent introduction to the jungle ecosystem on passing in between impressive trees such as the Shihuahuaco and the strangely beautiful Strangler Ficus tree, offering excellent opportunities exotic bird and insect watching.

For the first night we recommend you do the River by Night excursion - a guided boat trip of the route done in the afternoon, sailing along the Madre de Dios River. We will witness the transformation of a day world into a night world: day birds and animals give way to other species specially adapted to the night. While we enjoy the surrounding nature, we recommend you to be alert to the appearance of chotacabras, owls, ronsocos and large caimans.

In the evening we will enjoy a dinner served in the main dining room, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. After dinner, you may choose between going to your cabin early or join a talk about the experience of living in the jungle while listening to the intriguing sounds of the jungle by night. DAY 14: PUERTO MALDONADO| INC: B/L/D This day we will be able to sleep late or wake up early, the choice is up to you. Breakfast starts very early for those who wish to avoid the heat and enjoy nature to the maximum. The delicious buffet breakfast will be available from 5.30a.m. to 9:30a.m.

During the morning we can make the excursion to Lake Sandoval in the National Tambopata Reserve. We will sail in a wooden canoe across the lake, home of many species that are in danger of extinction, such as the giant river otter, the red howling monkeys, the red belly macaws, anacondas and the slanted neck turtles. We will get back to the Inkaterra Amazon Reserve lodge just in time for lunch.

After lunch we recommend a visit to the Inkaterra Canopy and the Anaconda trail. When climbing to the first tower located 29 meters above the jungle ground, we will have the first encounter with the species that live in the tree tops. We will literally walk through the tropical rainforest for over a quarter of a mile, through a network of bridges that connect eight observation platforms. For an hour and a half of expedition, we will be hanging up to observe colorful toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys, sloths, among other species. We can extend the excursion to appreciate the sunset in one of the towers.

After climbing down the Canopy, we will trek the Anaconda Trail for 30 minutes along the 200 wooden bridges over the Aguajales swamps. In this exuberant ecosystem, we will be able to observe different species of amphibians, birds, mammals and rainforest vegetation. There is also the possibility of appreciating snakes on these swampy zones. The excursion will end with the return to the lodge.
Once at the lodge, we will enjoy the nature presentation in the Eco Center. Dinner starts at 7:30 p.m. DAY 15: PUERTO MALDONADO/LIMA | INC: B Early in the morning we will enjoy a full breakfast before departing. We will start our 45 minute boat trip back along the Madre de Dios River that will take us to Puerto Maldonado, where you can visit the House of the Butterflies on the route. Peru has the largest variety of butterflies in the world, with 3700 known species, many of which can be seen at the House of the Butterflies, a sample of the variety, beauty and adaptation capacity of these fascinating insects.

Departure for our flight back to Lima. Upon arrival, assistance at the airport for our international connection flight.
