Day 1: Cusco / Mollepata / Marcocasa - (Lunch and Dinner Included) We will leave Cusco by bus early today and drive over Tika-Tika pass with the first view of the Salcantay and Humantay peaks in the horizon. After this, we will arrive at Tarawasi and visit its ruins (7,778.00 ft). We will reach Mollepata (9,512 ft.) around 1pm and after a two-hour trek we will arrive to our first camp. Overnight camping at Marcoccasa (10,496 ft). Day 2: Marcocasa / Cruzpata / Soraypampa - (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included) The trail climbs for about one hour until Cruzpata (10,660ft), where we will get the first view of the magnificent mount Humantay. We will continue past Oncopata to then have lunch in Checchicancha (11,808ft) located in a flat terrace with wonderful view of Mount Yannatay and Humantay. The trail goes up until Soraypampa where we will set our camp (12,815ft), surrounded by spectacular views of mounts Salcantay and Humantay. Today’s journey will last 6 to 7 hours. Day 3: Soraypampa / Incachiriasca / Sisaypampa - (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included) After breakfast, we will start hiking uphill to Salcantaypampa below the terminal moraine of mount Salcantay. The Salcantay peak (19,811ft) dominates the views. We continue hiking towards Incachiriasca pass (15,252ft), where we will appreciate a beautiful view of two glacier lakes. From here, the trail goes down until our next camp in Sisaypampa (13,776 ft) (B,L, and D). 7-8 hours of trekking. Day 4: Sisaypampa / Pampacahua / Paucarcancha - (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included) The trek continues down until the end of the valley where it turns north and enters the Pampacahua valley, with an amazing Inca water channel and many agriculture fields along its edges. We will continue walking down and then up, cross a short pass and then reach our next camp in Paucarcancha, the first Inca ruins of the journey (10,332 ft). 5-6 hour trekking. Day 5: Paucarcancha / Huallabamba / Llulluchapampa - (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included) After breakfast, we will start going down along an Inca trail until we reach the community of Huayllabamba, where we will join the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We will start the ascent close to the Huayruro stream until we reach Tres Piedras Blancas for lunch. We will then cross a forest with many native trees as Uncas and Chachacomos and continue to our campsite in Llulluchapampa (12,300ft). View of the mount Huayanay. Trekking 5-6 hours. Day 6: Lluchapampa / Phuyupatamarca - (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included) Today, we will trek uphill until Warmiwañusca pass (13,776ft) with a magnificent view of the trail ahead of us. We descent over the mountain down to Pacaymayo valley to then ascent again up to the ruins of Runkurakay and the second pass (13,284ft). From this pass we will hike down to the site of Sayacmarca through the elfin forest and a wonderful stone-made trail. A beautiful view of Aobamba valley surprises us, while we enjoy a leisure walk with amazing views of mount Pumasillo and Salcantay. We will camp in Phuyupatamarca. Trekking 7-8 hours Day 7: Machu Picchu / Cusco - (Breakfast and Lunch Included) After an exploration of Phuyupatamarca and its sacred water fountains, we will go down hundreds of steps through the Amazon cloud forest until we reach the Inca site of Intipata and Wiñay Wayna, where we have lunch. We will then explore this Inca site and follow the Inca trail until we enter Machu Picchu through the Inti Punku (Gate of the Sun), with a magnificent view of the entire citadel. Trekking 5-7 hours. Visit of the ancient citadel. Train back to Cusco, arrive and transfer to Hotel.
